HOW TO GET THERE

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Public transport is recommended if you are planning to attend this event.

NEWCASTLE BUSES & FERRIES

STA Buses will run via the Wickham Interchange as per Saturday schedule.

Extra services bus and regular ferry services to and from Newcastle and surrounding areas will be running throughout the day. Timetables and notices can be viewed on the following:

TRAINS

Normal train services to and from the Wickham Interchange will be running throughout the day as per normal schedules.

TAXI SERVICES

A taxi rank will be provided adjacent to the Wickham Interchange on Railway Street where private vehicles can drop off and pickup from before, during and after the event. It will be serviced by Newcastle Taxis and managed by traffic controller /security to ensure pedestrian safety and orderly set down / pickups. Newcastle Taxis are aware of peak ingress and egress times for the event.

PUBLIC VEHICLES

There is a ‘Public Set Down Area’ adjacent to the venue on Railway Street where private vehicles can drop off and pickup from before, during and after the event. Please note that these areas will be managed by traffic controllers and are not parking bays. Please follow the instructions of the traffic controllers and police. All Parent and private pickups are advised to be planned from this point.

 

CAR PARKING

There is a main public car park area located near to the event site precinct. The Event Car Park will be:

  • Civic Car Park
  • Gibson Street Car Park
  • Hunter Car Parks – Newcastle

Car park use will be at rates of car park management and user charges.

 

TRANSPORT HUB MAP

LOCAL TRAFFIC, ROAD CLOSURES & ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Albert Street from the Pacific highway to Railway Street will be under controlled access points, where local traffic will not be granted access. Approved event vehicles will be granted access via presentation of approved event identification. Taxi and set down areas are located within this region to remove vehicular congestion from immediate proximity of the event site precinct. The taxi and public set down area is within the area precinct surrounding the event site. Only accredited event vehicles, event busses and taxis will be permitted into the event precinct.

Set Down Area 4
